FDM - Fused Deposition Modeling - Spool-based plastic is melted and deposited by a heated print head onto a model adhered to a heated print bed.

Bed slinger - A heated bed that moves back and forth along the Y-axis. This movement can cause tall prints (along the Z-axis) to fail by toppling over.
Resin - NOT THIS KIND OF PRINTER - Good for fine details, such as miniatures. Toxic as hell. Requires special care with ventilation and off-gassing. Much slower than FDM.

CoreXY - NOT THIS KIND - Has a gantry that moves to handle both the X- and Y-axes.
PLA - Polylactic acid - Melts at high temperatures. Do not leave it in the car. A 1 kg (2.2 lb) spool costs about 20 dollars. Prints are often hollow, so PLA is very cost-effective. The slicer tells you the cost.
STL - Stereolithography - 3D files.
G-code - Geometric code - G-code controls extrusion speed, print-head speed, bed speed, and temperature.
The slicer software translates STL files into G-code.
A slicer is software that communicates with the printer. It acts as the print driver and also provides rudimentary 3D editing tools.
You can add supports. Supports prevent failures and deformation but add cleanup steps, use more filament, and take more time.
All prints require cleanup.

Automotive spray filler primer.
3D Gloop - Creates a strong chemical bond. It is not as strong as a single piece, but it is still pretty good.
Super glue - Good for quick parts that do not need to hold any weight.
UV resin - Cures with UV light and is the core material used in a UV resin printer. Sands down to a nice finish. Produces pretty nasty fumes.
Bondo fiberglass resin.
